Welcome

About us

Welcome to a whole new world of possibilities for your orthodontic treatment. Our offices are located in downtown Toronto, in the heart of the financial district, and in the city of Guelph, just west of Toronto. Our downtown Toronto office is steps away from the Eaton Centre, Trump Tower, First Canadian Place, and Nathan Phillips Square. Our offices are very easily accessible. Most of our patients see us from out of town.

Practice picture Our clinic is not for everyone. To decide to become a patient in our office is a testament to your focus on individual service.

We have on occasion referred prospective patients away when we felt their needs were better met elsewhere. Those for whom a customised, boutique-style approach is prized most highly, will benefit the most with us. It is crucial that all parties understand their responsibilities in order that a productive relationship, and superlative results, can be achieved.

Why our clinic?

You will receive the greatest possible individualised service. All clinical treatment is performed by Dr Ling personally. There is no "assembly line" with a series of different faces at each visit.

We offer you over a full decade of continuous full-time clinical experience with Inside Braces. This experience does not imply a few occasional cases marketed as "years of experience"; it involves hundreds of finished cases and many years of original pioneering work in the field of Lingual Orthodontics, as described further within this website.

We only ever book one patient at a time, thereby again emphasising personal service, and enhancing our ability to respect your time by running on schedule.

Our clinical techniques are based on work with fixed (bonded) appliances, which are accepted as the "gold standard" in orthodontic precision. This technique is not Invisalign or OrthoClear, which are often incorrectly promoted as "invisible braces". Invisalign is severely limited in its ability to treat cases and clinicians often have to complete these treatments with fixed braces. We are also not limited only to iBraces/Incognito, which are often incorrectly promoted as the only "100% customised" technique.

Many offices talk about an adult-friendly orthodontic environment, but service children primarily, or try to steer adult patients toward outside braces. In our Guelph clinic, a three-quarter majority of our patients are adults, mostly from their 20s to 60s. Our Toronto clinic sees adult patients only.

Why is there a consultation fee?

Nowadays, many things are advertised as free, which really means that paying customers have the privilege of subsidising the next person's free service. Or the next ten people… or the next twenty people…

We offer you a far more detailed consultation than most. A free consultation will only cost you time, which may be given only as freely as the fee itself. A "free" good or service has exactly the value that the customer pays for it.

Dr Ling has trained and practiced professionally all over the world and is therefore able to offer you, the prospective patient, clinical techniques which reflect this wide experience.

Should you choose to avail yourself of our specialist clinical services, you will find yourself able to achieve a healthy and balanced smile, without having to endure the appearance of outside braces or the less precise results of Invisalign. Our practice atmosphere reflects our mature clientele; for example, visits are by appointment only and always provided in separated private treatment areas. Our practice system is fully computerised. We also employ modern digital radiography, which significantly reduces radiation exposure.

All treatment is established on the basis of a private fee schedule.
